Morphe 12Z Review and Swatches.

Hello my lovelies,

Okay so the last time I bought a Morphe Palette, it was the first non-drugstore palette I ever bought (I know it’s drugstore prices but I mean quality wise.) and at the time I actually loved the palette to bits. I bought the 35k which is a beautiful chocolate palette full of warm browns and champagne shimmers which are perfect for a smokey eye.

Since then I have bought a number of high end palettes from ABH, Too Faced, Estee Lauder and Violet Voss and more and have changed my opinion slightly on the Morphe shadows so I was interested in looking at the new palette and seeing how my opinion differed.

I thought that this palette was going to be in a clear front but it actually just came in the standard Morphe container with the matte black casing and the signature brand name.

The colours on initial inspection are gorgeous with two matte colours and the rest shimmers. It is the perfect concoction for a cool and neutral toned smokey eye look and the colours have been thought out. You can use the matte (green and black) as a crease colour with the turquoise and the blues and the black in the crease for the rest of the colours so it’s not impossible to only use this palette for a full look but for the best outcome you should use another colour with a wider variety of matte colours.

Now onto the formula and pigmentation.

Okay So the first row is slightly disappointing, it consists of a silver, grey, brick red and pink toned purple. All of these shades are creamy but lack pigmentation. I’m sure they could be built up but I don’t think they’re the best.

Now this row is my FAVOURITE with a brown, matte green, deep blue and I don’t even know what to call the last one, I guess it’s a brown with blue reflects in it. The first and third are almost foiled shadows which is so impressive for a palette which is only 12 pounds. The last shade is my favourite out of the entire palette, it looks like the Urban decay Moondust shadows. It really is beautiful.

And finally the last row. There are two more almost foiled shades which this royal blue which I am in love with and Yellow blue and then there is a shimmery grey and a matte black. I always think that you can tell the quality of a palette by how pigmented the black is. It’s actually quite difficult to get the pigmentation off of a black and it is quite impressive.

All in all this palette is extremely pigmented and I think it is a great steal for only 12 pounds as opposed the the larger palettes where they stick as many different shades of one colour and call it a colour scheme (not that I particularly dislike that, it’s wonderful for filling in for other palettes). They seem to have really thought about this one and all of the shadows can be used as the main show as opposed to just dipping into for one colour.

MOTD 9: Mothers Day Day Look

Hello my lovelies,

Okay so I’m a bit late with this one but I’ve been busy with flat pack furniture and trying to exist on lack of sleep (children) and also mother’s day the other day which I was super excited about.

It was my first mother’s day and I honestly don’t know who was more excited, myself or Ricardo. Actually, I know the answer, it was Ricardo. We have a thing where on most opportunities where we have to open presents we always open them at midnight but I wanted to open my mother’s day present in the morning because I have the fondest memories of curling up on my mums bed every year at stupid o’clock in the morning and handing her her presents and It just looked so desirable but Rico was so proud of what he’d bought me he wanted me to open it. He was almost begging me to open it at midnight then when I called his bluff he’d instantly retract it and you could see the pain in his eyes.

There turned out to be a reason in why he was so excited about giving me my present, it’s because the boy done good. He got me a beautiful photo frame with pictures of our family and a Jeffree star liquid lipstick in the colour Blue velvet, which I mentioned that I wanted in passing a couple of weeks ago.

I created a cute little look which I was pleased with:

My next makeup of the day will be my number 10 which is exciting so i’m going to do it slightly different, I’m going to take a photo from each one and link so you can see all of them up until now. I think that will be a cute idea.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post,

Help, I’m Addicted to Putting my Child in Dungarees.

Hi guys,

So the dreaded time finally came the other day where I had to have a first clean out of Leo’s clothes. He’s now out of newborn and 0-3 months and there is a massive bag of baby clothes sitting in the corner of the room which I need to wash Iron and sell on gumtree (adult life).

When cleaning out his tiny clothes I stumbled across a type of clothing which kept recurring and which made me really think. This was dungarees. Actually come to think of it, the first clothing I ever bought when I was pregnant was a pair of bright orange finding nemo dungarees from the Disney Store which is 6-9 months and which I hope to get Leo wearing in the summer, they’re so cute and I am genuinely so excited.

I realised that Leo has well over an excess of 10 pairs of dungarees and they are actually the majority of what he wears on a day to day basis and when looking through photos I have taken since he’s been born I realised that actually the majority of photos I’ve taken for social media are actually wearing dungarees and I don’t regret a second, they’re so damn cute.

Here is a small variety of his dungarees. Plus a number that I haven’t photographed and a lot which he’s still too small for, I know right crazy.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. I’ll be posting a palette review on YouTube tomorrow so watch out for that.

I’m a Mother and a Superhero

Okay guys, so you’re going to have to give me a bit of time on this blog to explain myself as I’ve tried writing this a few times before this is the only way I have been able to bring it all together. Although this is a blog for all of you and it’s a post for me too today.

When I initially explained what I wanted to write about to Ricardo I was met with a plethora of giggles, not maliciously but just because it sounds ridiculous when I try and explain it.

So here goes guys I am a superhero.

Now when I say that I am not being pretentious or self-centered but just giving myself a little bit of credit with a bit of creative licence. I feel like I deserve credit as do so many other mothers and fathers out there.

Obviously when you are a superhero you have a number of superpowers and since Leo was born (my metaphorical spider bite, I feel like I’m invincible. Here are my powers:

Super Strength:

  • I brought a child into the world (if that isn’t super strength then I don’t know what is.)
  • I can go nights with minimal sleep (we are currently on day 3 with about 4 hours sleep between 4-8am because I have a teething, chesty baby yaay).
  • I can look after a child full time, make dinner. clean the house, wash the clothes and still have time to run a blog.

Super hearing:

  • I can wake up with the smallest grunt or whimper before it turns into a unconsolable scream.
  • One of my proudest talents is I am now able to tell how much water (150ml, 180ml) goes into a bottle purely by listening to the water rise in pitch as it enters the bottle so when I am half asleep at half 3 in the morning making a bottle all it takes is a quick glance to double check.
  • I can now tell what My child wants by the tone of his cry.

Super Intelligence:

  • I have developed a method of being able to reach anything within a meter and a half when I have a (extremely light) sleeper sleeping on myself using my feet and other objects such as scarfs and hooking things with xbox controllers (usually food).
  • I have worked out ways of making food out of minimal food in the house when it occurs even though when I left home I could barely make a decent pasta sauce.
  •  I can tell when my child is tricking me for attention.

Now I can see how this can be taken as pretentious but with  motherhood you are subjected to hours of sometimes lonely thankless work with no guidelines and rules to get you through the day. Especially nowadays with social media everybody filtering their lives to an inch of their lives, sometimes you can feel overwhelmed and like you are drowning but we all need to take the time out of the days to celebrate the little things because even though your child may not be sleeping throughout the night, didn’t take to breastfeeding, accidentally uttered a swear word that they heard when you stubbed your toe, or refuses to stay clean that’s okay and that’s normal and the work you are doing is absolutely incredible and you are a Superhero.

Panning Products: 2017 Introduction.

Hi guys,

In this first video in a number, i have decided that I am going to try and be less wasteful with my makeup. I am currently on a no-buy until further notice and also am going to try and use up makeup that would otherwise sit at the back of my vanity.

I have decided to choose a number of products including from Nyx, Seventeen, Laura Mercier and the balm and am going to try and use them to the point of hitting pan. If you are interested in how this works then click the link below.

Babies First Train Journey

Hi guys,

So I haven’t posted for a few days and that’s because I’ve been at Rico’s parents for a few days visiting his family but we hit another exciting milestone. Leo went on his first train journey.

So instead of being sensible and just taking him 20 minutes away to the coast we decided to take him to Hertfordshire which is 3 hours and 3 trains but luckily Leo is a pretty chilled out baby and only gets upset when he needs something for the way back (touch wood for the way back).

sleepy boys

I’m enjoying making all of these babies first blog posts and being able to keep a track of his milestones and have photos and a record of everything.

The other Babies firsts that we have reached are:

Babies first snow day

Babies first Injections

Babies first tooth(ish)

Kat Von D Lolita II: Swatches and Review

So this review has been a long time coming as the Kat Von D liquid lipstick was the first high end liquid lipstick I ever received and I have had it for a number of months. Now I have to say that this is my favourite formula in the world. I have tried so many high end and drugstore liquid and cream lipsticks and nothing has come close.

Now Lolita II is a beautiful nudie pink and is similar to it’s predecessor, the only difference being Lolita II  is slightly lighter and more Orange toned and Lolita has a ever so slightly purple undertone. I was so cut between which one I was going to buy but in the end Orange is my thing so it was obvious.

This is what it looks like on the lip (excuse my lack of any other makeup as I am going to film a video later and m still in my pyjamas so don’t see the point in putting any on).

Now the formula is a beautiful creamy formula and when I first put it on I was physically shocked because I could barely feel any product on my lip and I’m so used to feeling a thick paint like layer on the lips (especially with the milani liquid lipsticks).I was even more suprised how that once the product had dried it was completely transfer proof and didn’t transfer even when eating. At the end of the day it lasted at least 4 hours without having to reapply and when I did only a little bit of product had come off. (I am a lipstick fiend and hate any of my lipstick coming off.)

My finally review on this is that it’s a stunning lipstick and when I can I’m going to buy more colours but it’s a pity that there isn’t a wider variety of colours. When she first announced coming out with liquid lipsticks I was hoping for a huge range of colours as she’s quite out there but there’s always hope for the future.

Leo’s Four Month Update

Hi Guys,

So believe it or not Leo is four months, I know tight. I can remember sitting down and writing every single ones of his previous month updates like they were yesterday and if you’ve followed this blog for a while you might remember reading them (probably not).

So today as I’ve joined the YouTube bandwagon I thought I’d give this opportunity to film Leo’s update and get him on camera and I really enjoyed filming it. Since creating a YouTube channel it’s improved my confidence greatly, I feel more oblivious to what people think about me and just happier in general.

If you’d like to give that a look I’d love that so click below.
