Skateboard Wall Decor

Good evening guys,

So today I thought I’d give you a new DIY home Decor post as I can’t even tell you how long it has been since my last one. Now I love being able to create my own look and plan out and design and only living here for 6 months and with limited funds it’s nowhere near where I’d like for it to be.

One thing about our flat is we have extremely bare white walls and especially in our bedroom it looks, stark, bare and like we’ve only just moved in even though all of our furniture has been here for months.

One thing that I wanted to do for ages was to hang a bunch of skateboards on the wall over the tv as my boyfriend is mad about skateboarding and there are a bunch of holes in the wall from where the previous tenant had hung a tv on the wall. Also there are so many different options and different artists who design different boards. I didn’t think that this would be an option for a while but I bought a board for my boyfriend a while ago to skate with and we decided that it would be best on the while as he hasn’t had as much opportunity since he moved from hertfordshire.

I’m so pleased about how this turned out. The board itself is from a brand called Polar Skate Co which is a cute brand which do loads of different skateboards, clothing and accessories. If you’d like to have a look at that then you can click here.

We’re going to add two more, one either side once we can but at the moment I’m pretty pleased.

  • To create this I worked out where I wanted the board to hang and then stuck 4 sticky back pegs which are meant to not affect the wall as we’re not allowed to put anything on our walls
  • I then threaded two pieces of twine through the truck holes on the board. I tied them into two separate knots so there are two separate loops through the board.
  • Lastly I hung them. I used two sets as they’re only sticky and not as strong as wall pegs. If you can drill into the wall then i’d only use one.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this DIY and i’ll continue to post them as we decorate the flat.

The little Things.

So being a mother is one of the most confusing and difficult things you can do. You don’t get to shadow anyone, there’s no right way to do things and you’re met with unwanted opinions and disapproving looks left right and center but it’s all worth it with the sprog.

For the first few months your baby is at their neediest and you are at your most naive and sometimes it can feel like it’s overwhelming especially if it’s your first baby but once you get into a  routine and they’re slightly more independent it can become less worrying and stressful and more precious, especially when they are learning something new every other day.

Leo’s long past the time where he’s smiling, he’s now laughing and being so so cheeky. it melts my heart. He now has this new trick where when he wants attention he pretends to cry by sticking out his bottom lip and moaning but it is so easy to make him laugh. it’s a mess of winging and giggling and although I shouldn’t encourage it it’s the sweetest thing.

Here is a photo of Leo I tried to take the other day showing his outfit but he decided to sneeze at the wrong time.

Over the last couple of days Leo has discovered that he has feet and constantly has his feet in his hands, when he doesn’t he’s watching them kick and looking completely confused as to how he is making this object move without using his hands and he will happily sit their with an excess of 20 minutes.

I also didn’t realise how strong he is getting. The other day I put him in a bouncer that I hadn’t put him in for a few weeks and unlike before where he just laid in it and started crying once he became frustrated he managed to hold onto the side and pull himself into a sitting position. I have never ran to him so fast.

Anyway this isn’t a long post as he has his 4 month update coming soon (gasp) and I will do a separate post for that but I just wanted a little post about Leo’s development because it’s going so quickly I can’t keep up.

MOTD 6: Urban Decay Full Spectrum First Impression Look

Hi guys,

So today is a great day as is any other in which I get to use a new palette. Today’s blessing comes in the form of the Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette which I picked up yesterday and I have to say I am in love. I put myself off buying this palette for a long time purely because I do not use bright colours in my day to day life but there are only so many looks you can do with browns and Oranges and I have to tell you I am reaching the end of my lifespan. So I decided to pick this up and give it a go.

Now I’m not going to go too much into this because I’m actually posting a first impressions video on YouTube tomorrow with the look I am doing today but I have to say I love this palette.

I wanted to focus this look on Purples because it’s a safer colour than bright yellow and also is easy to match up with lip colours but I hope that you like it.

What I used

Face: Urban Decay Pore Perfecting Primer, Nyx Stay Matte but not Flatte 01 Ivory, Mac Studio Finish Concealer in NW10, Nyx Contour Palette, Rimmel stay Matte 005 Silky Beige, Elf translucent Powder, Mary Loumaniser, Nyx Dewy Finish Setting Spray

Why I stopped Breastfeeding and Why It Was The Best Decision For Me (YouTube Video)

Breastfeeding is one of those topics in which it is extremely difficult to talk about. There’s an ongoing battle with fighting for rights for women to breastfeed when and where they want and although this is a negative video towards breastfeeding this is purely relating to myself. I have no problem with women who choose to breastfeed and believe that breastfeeding is natural, beautiful and in cases relating to an individual can be better than bottle feeding.

I also believe that bottle feeding also is another subject which is difficult to talk about but when it comes to feeding a baby there’s no one wrong and one right way. Breastfeeding is subject to personal preference and we should support whatever is best for mother and baby.

The link for my video is below.

MOTD 5: Modern Renaissance Pink Cut Crease

Today is a day in which I have specifically decided to only use one palette which I very rarely do. Usually I will go from palette to palette even purely because I can but I just wanted to see what the Modern Renaissance Palette can really do.

I decided to choose a slightly more vibrant colour than I usually would go for with the staple colours that initially drew me to this palette from the Modern renaissance Palette.

Here is the look that I came up with:

I used the ABH dipbrow in chocolate for my eyebrows with the nyx blush in taupe to go over the top.

For my eyes I used the Elf eye primer in Peal and for mac concealer in NW10 over my lid. I used the colour Tempera for my lid. The colour Burnt orange for my transition colour. Love letter and Venetian red over the lid and Red Ochre in the crease and my mac concealer over for the cut crease. I then used Vermeer over the lid, Nyx matte eyeliner in black and YSL mascara.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this look, Subscribe to my new Youtube channel below and watch my Youtube made me Buy it video. I have also got a video coming tomorrow so watch out for that.

Babies first Tooth(ish)

So without even realising it I seem to have created a series of blog posts all titles babies firsts including Babies first Injection and Babies first Snow Day (which I was so excited about when I realised) but today I am bring to you with pride and dismay Babies First Tooth(ish).

This post has been a long time coming but I have been completely in denial because who wants their babies to grow up too quickly. For weeks and weeks I have been putting off the bucket loads of dribble and him constantly putting every single thing he has his hands on (including his hands for the majority of the time) in his mouth but yesterday I finally found it. The start of a tooth coming through

Now I don’t think that it was the fact that I was completely in denial but I also didn’t realise that babies could get their teeth through at 3 months. Apparently so and one of my mummy friends babies even had his through at 6 weeks but It seems like the day is ever looming that I am going to have a chubby(er), chaty(er) crawling (no not yet) squidge.

If you’d to have a look at my youtube which I am going to try and upload on twice a week as well as most days on here then click below.
